Nice blog Jan! Like I said yesterday everybody on here keep on female doging as long as the wins keep coming. I don’t see how we don’t re- sign grabs to me a no brainer! If gorton can do something about another solid Center and Zibanejad comes back okay as long as we get in I think we can play with anyone

Not for a first round pick. No. I don't not want the Rangers trading first round picks for a while.

NYR can come up w/ something to get Brass back that doesn't cost an arm and a leg

A late 1st round pick isn't crazy.

Brass is no longer the player you guys remember when he was a Ranger. His last 2 seasons in New York, he averaged .74 points per game. The last season and a half, he is averaging about .52 points per game for the Sens. Couple his decreased play with a $5 million cap hit this year and next, Brassard is a big NO at any price.

He's also playing on a team over the last 2 seasons that has scored 70 less goals than the Rangers. If he can come back and be a 50 point 2nd line center that allows Hayes to concentrate on shutting down the other teams top line on the 3rd line, it's a no brainer I think.

He also has 55 points in 78 playoff games and is playing on a team that has scored 70 less goals than the Rangers since joining the Sens.

Agreed, again I like Brass but some guys just hit a bump in their career & that's it, I feel brassard is like this & that cap hit is way too high.

He's on pace for 19 goals and 29 assists. 48 point season playing on a team that scores considerably less than the Rangers do and he's done? Guy is clutch in the playoffs also and adding him lets us be patient with Chytil and Andersson.

This is were Brooks' comments comes into play. If NYR isn't going to make a real push for cup than why bother acquiring at dead line when they should be unloading the likes of Nash, Grabs, and ??. At least that way those future UFAs can bring something to NYR b4 end of season.

If NYR has a chance to make a run than by all means get some players in here. Brass would most definately help, and if he can be had w/ a prospect or two/Draftpicks, not 1st rounder, than do it.

NYR has won 15 of the last 20 (approx) if that continues than NYR should be buyers.

Another center is neeeded and Brass fits the bill at the right price.

When re-acquiring Brassard was mentioned on the blog a few weeks ago, I pointed out that he is making $5 mil this year and next. Please explain to me how you are re-signing Hayes, Miller, Skjei and Vesey even with Nash's salary gone? Plus, if I had a choice, give me a re-signed Grabner over Brassard. With Zib and Hayes, I prefer giving Chytil a shot at the third line center or acquiring someone else in free agency, unless Ottawa eats salary.

When you put it that way (rationally), well than getting Brass back makes no sense.

Thats no fun
